It all begins with education, support and a home

THIS IS THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AND SERVICES THIS GRANT REQUEST WILL EXPAND AND ENRICH
New Milford Affordable Housing supportive program provides those living there and formerly homeless the life skills education they need. These include:
Employment Skills (what is a resume, how to write a resume, how to interview for a job, how to negotiate a salary, how to dress for an interview and work, how to manage conflict at the workplace, etc.)
Financial Management (having a checking account, balancing a checking account, paying bills, budgeting, obtaining credit, credit management, learning how to negotiate successfully, etc.)
Home Management skills (how to do laundry, how to clean, how to cook healthy meals, how to manage a household)
Obtaining a GED or High School or Higher Education or Trade Skills
Helping find daycare and completing all paperwork, if needed
Helping find ESL classes and becoming fluent in English, if needed.
Helping obtain mental health services, if needed.
Healthcare education. Assist with building a healthcare plan and network of providers.
Help to navigate governmental programs and requirements.
We build the educational plan and support services for each resident to meet their unique needs. We meet people where they are at and help lift them up.
