Mary Jane “MJ” Lundgren, Chair & President

Mary Jane “MJ” Lundgren is a lifelong advocate for the Greater New Milford community. As Chair and President of New Milford Affordable Housing, she brings decades of leadership, public service, and deep local commitment to the organization’s mission.

In addition to her work with Affordable Housing, MJ serves as a member of the New Milford Town Council and as Vice President of the Northville Residents Association, reflecting her longstanding dedication to civic engagement and community well-being.

A retired intensive care nurse, MJ’s career has been grounded in compassion, critical thinking, and service to others. She holds her RN from the Roosevelt School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work.

Having called New Milford home since the 1960s, MJ offers both historical perspective and unwavering commitment to ensuring that safe, stable housing remains accessible for current and future generations.

Martha C McMahon, Member

Martha C. McMahon, Member

Martha C. McMahon is a longtime New Milford resident with a strong commitment to the town’s growth and vitality. As a member of the New Milford Affordable Housing Board of Directors, she supports efforts to expand access to safe, stable housing within the community she calls home.

In addition to her work with Affordable Housing, Martha has served on the New Milford Economic Development Commission, contributing to initiatives that strengthen the town’s economic foundation and future sustainability.

Her combined experience in local economic development and community service reflects a thoughtful understanding of how housing, business, and long-term planning intersect to support a thriving New Milford.

Theresa McSpedon, Executive Director, Treasurer & Property Manager, Brookside Commons

Theresa McSpedon brings more than 30 years of operational leadership across the corporate, nonprofit, and construction sectors to her work with New Milford Affordable Housing. As Executive Director and Treasurer of NMAH, as well as Property Manager for Brookside Commons, she oversees both strategic direction and day-to-day operations with a steady, results-driven approach.

A longtime resident of New Milford for over three decades, Theresa now resides in Sherman and remains deeply engaged in the region’s civic life. Her community leadership has included service as a Commissioner for New Milford’s Water Pollution Control Authority, Treasurer and Board Member for Webb Youth Services, member of the New Milford Coalition for New Beginnings, and Treasurer for the New Milford Democratic Town Committee.

Theresa holds multiple Associate of Science degrees in Business and Accounting and earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics from Columbia University. Her expertise in finance, governance, and operational systems provides critical infrastructure for NMAH’s mission to expand access to safe, affordable housing in the community.

Peter Goodman, Board Member

Peter Goodman brings more than 25 years of experience in business analysis, systems development, and operational leadership to the New Milford Affordable Housing Board of Directors. With a career spanning financial services, higher education, nonprofit technology, and global corporations, Peter has built a reputation for translating complex systems into clear, functional solutions.

Throughout his career, Peter has led large-scale system implementations, regulatory readiness initiatives, and enterprise-wide data and security projects for organizations including Yale University, Blackbaud, GE Capital, Royal Bank of Scotland, Swiss Re, and Daymon. His expertise includes data analysis, requirements gathering, project management, risk assessment, and process improvement — skills that strengthen governance, financial oversight, and long-term planning at NMAH.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from SUNY Stony Brook and an Associate of Science in Engineering Science from SUNY Delhi. A New Milford resident, he brings analytical rigor, cross-sector insight, and a steady commitment to supporting the organization’s mission of expanding access to safe, affordable housing.

 

Julie Droege, Associate Board Member & Secretary

Julie Droege is a brand strategist, storyteller, and founder of Wild Folke Method, a creative consultancy supporting mission-driven organizations with positioning, communications, and growth strategy. Through her work, she partners with independent businesses and nonprofits to clarify their message, strengthen community engagement, and expand impact.

As Associate Board Member and Secretary of NMAH, Julie supports governance, communications, and strategic visibility efforts that advance access to safe, stable housing in the region.

Julie also serves on the Board of Webb Youth Services, where she leads branding and development initiatives, and is a member of the Education Without Walls advisory board. Across all of her work, she is driven by a belief that strong communities are built through opportunity, dignity, and thoughtful stewardship.



 

Bill Pitcher, Associate Board Member

Bill recently joined the board as an associate member. He graduated from New Milford High School, and attended Franklin and Marshall College. His first employment was with the Connecticut Light and Power from which he moved on to Amphenol/Danbury where he designed product for the CCTV, CATV, A/V markets.

Bill continued targeting those markets as he moved on to other manufactures gaining a broader view of the industry

In 1999 Bill cofounded an organization in order to expand into the  Aerospace and Military markets.

In 2017 he sold that company and moved on to his own company in order to gain independence and greater efficiency.
